The staff at Bishop O’Byrne High School are looking forward to seeing students back in the building for classes starting Monday, January 10, 2022. As we strive to maintain in-person learning, students are asked to be diligent in keeping their masks on while in the building except during physical exercise and when eating.  Students should maintain social distancing and sanitize their hands regularly. Please keep your child home from school if they have Covid-19 symptoms or test positive for Covid-19.  As always, students should monitor Brightspace (D2L) if absent from school.   Government provided rapid tests and masks will be sent home with students in the next few weeks. Students should arrive at school masked for the day.

Extra-curricular activities will resume starting January 11, 2022. The number of spectators at sporting events will be limited to one parent/guardian per player with no food or drink in the gym.

As a result of the Alberta Government cancelling Diploma exams, High Schools in Calgary Catholic will not be running final exams. Regular classes will now take place January 10 - 21, 2022.  These days will run on the traditional bell schedule.

January 24 - 27, 2022 will be for optional reassessment and/or time for students to complete projects in Career and Technology Studies classes. Reassessment opportunities will be identified through collaboration with the student and teacher in areas that the student requires support. These opportunities will vary depending on the subject and, in some cases, work may need to be completed outside of the regular class time and submitted by January 27, 2022.  In-person assessments will take place during scheduled times from January 24 – 27, 2022.

The school will be closed to students on January 28 and 31, 2022. Semester Two begins on February 1, 2022.
